(Cannes) May 14, 2000 - Another bright
star of the Troma-verse landed in Cannes today as Damion Dietz,
writer, director and co-star of the gay-punk, underground trash
cinema classic Fag Hag, arrived at the Troma Love Chapel.
As part of the "All the Love You Cannes" festival, Troma is
very proud to present the European premiere of Dietz's film
Fag Hag on Tuesday, May 16, at 3:30 PM at Palais C.
Fag Hag has been a theatrical success
and touted by the Philadelphia International Gay & Lesbian Film
Festival as Cinema Veri-gay. Fag Hag is the touching
inspirational story of how two hopeless no-talent losers find
each other in a cruel world, and through the strength of their
deep bond are empowered to become…two hopeless no-talent losers.
Featuring a tour de force performance cameo by Wil Wheaton
(Stand by Me, TV's Star Trek: Next Generation) as a Christian
bookstore manager, Fag Hag pays homage to John Waters
while launching a bold new message to the gay community.
Filled with "quotable dialogue," (Outfest '98)
and, "foot-stompingly offensive musical numbers," (Philadelphia
GLIFF), Fag Hag will screen twice during the Cannes Film
Festival. The European premiere is Tuesday, May 16, at 3:30
PM at Palais C. A second screening will be held Friday, May
19, at 11:30 AM at Arcades 3.
