(Cannes) May 12, 2000 - The Troma Team increases its ranks
today as Chad Ferrin, one of Troma's newest discoveries, arrives
to take part in "All the Love You Cannes", Troma's campaign
to bring romance back to the Cannes Film Festival. In addition
to spreading love and good will along the Croisette, Ferrin
will be attending a private screening of his film Unspeakable
this evening at 6:00 PM. This will be the first in a series
of three very special, invitation-only, love-fest cocktail parties
hosted by Troma in their glamorous Love Chapel, located in suites
#264 and 265 of the Carlton Hotel.
Unspeakable is the heart-warming and
visually gore-ifying tale of a man emotionally demolished by
the death of his only daughter. He then tries to find a reason
to love again with a straight razor. With this film, Ferrin
joins an elite group of filmmakers whose first films are part
of the Troma canon. Other Troma geniuses include James Bond
III (Def By Temptation), Buddy Giovinazzo (Combat
Shock), and Trey Parker (Cannibal! The Musical).
An added bonus at this screening will be the
world premiere of the trailer of Troma's international co-production
Parts of the Family, a film as romantic as Dr. Zhivago
but with all the zombies David Lean was forced to cut out. Together,
Parts of the Family and Unspeakable create a double
feature which will have hearts (and stomachs) aflutter for days.
Admittance to this private screening is on a
first-come, first-serve basis. Those in attendance will also
receive the highly sought-after Troma Love Pack, containing
either a collectible limited edition Cannes Film Festival variant
of Troma's brand-new comic book The New Adventures of the
Toxic Avenger or "Hard-On For Tromaville", a 3-CD compilation
of independent rock and punk bands from around the world created
by AMP Records and Tromaville.com. Director Chad Ferrin, Troma
president Lloyd Kaufman, and the Troma Team will be available
throughout the event for interviews and Q&A sessions.
