The Troma Team Featured in Moby’s new music video

Cannes, May 18^th- In an exclusive phone interview conducted today from Cannes, Lloyd Kaufman and Moby discussed Moby’s video for “We Are All Made of Stars”. (What is believed to be the biggest hit off his soon to be released new album “18”) The video features Moby going to the Hollywood Premiere of Troma’s Citizen Toxie: The Toxic Avenger 4. There he finds the Troma Superheroes The Toxic Avenger, Sgt Kabukiman NYPD, The Mad Cowboy, and Super Tromette Hypothermia.

On the air, Kaufman and Moby discussed exactly how Troma got involved with Moby’s video. By the end of the conversation it was apparent that Moby is a Troma fan and supports independent art and the causes that Troma stands for. On the show, Kaufman also asked Moby to consider writing the songs for Troma’s new film, a zombie fast food chicken musical called Poultrygeist.

Mr. Kaufman was so impressed and appreciative of Moby’s philosophy that after the show, he decided he would offer to direct Moby’s next video. Whatever fees Mr. Kaufman would make from directing Moby’s video would of course be donated to Moby’s favorite charity.

 Lloyd Kaufman has been directing film projects for over 30 years, but prefers not to direct music videos unless it is a favor for bands that have supported Troma such as the Lunachicks and Entombed. Kaufman feels that Moby exemplifies independent art, thought and diet, and because of this, the Troma Team will be there whenever Moby needs them.
