6PM: Lloyd Kaufman and Toxie, with their friend Sgt.
Kabukiman and several lovely Tromettes, arrived at the Union Square
Virgin Megastore, to sign copies of the Toxic Avenger 21st Anniversary
DVD, for fans who came from all across the Eastern Seaboard for the
chance to meet the legendary titan of independent cinema. Camera crews
from a variety of newspapers, web sites and television channels were
also on hand to cover the event.
8PM: The party kicked into high gear at The
Delancey, on the Lower East Side, where The
Onion sponsored Toxie's 21st birthday party. With the generous support
of Red Stripe beer,
hundreds of well-wishers showed their respect to the hideously deformed
creature of superhuman size and strength, who was nattily attired in
a red turtleneck and silk suit.
